Updates and Upgrades

Updates: Patches

IES releases periodic updates with new build numbers to fix problems or add free features. View the release notes to understand why we published the update.

Please use the latest updates to avoid engineering errors, crashing problems, and for the best performance. If you experience anything that appears to be a defect or you find confusing, please report it to technical support, so we can investigate and improve. Customers who actually report frustration or defects are our heroes!

Check For Updates

Our products generally check for updates automatically and will politely remind you. You may manually check for updates by running the IES Updater utility accessible from within IES products, either in a Help menu, or in the About box.

System administrators may add a SuppressCheck = "True" flag into the system registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IES\Updates. This will cause the software to skip the automatic update check. This will not prevent you from running the IES Updater or manually installing updates via the downloads page at

Download Updates

Updates may be obtained from the downloads page on the web site or through the IES Updater.

Upgrades: New Major Version

When the major version number changes on a product (e.g. 1.0 to 2.0), you may use the new version immediately if your license is active.  If your license is expired, you may only use the newer version if your license was active on the date the newer product was released.
