What is a Beta Test?
Simply put it is software that is not quite finished, but is "close enough" that customers and friends can test it, evaluate it, and provide feedback that could directly impact the final release version. Often times there is some direct benefit to running 'beta' software including, but not limited to:
- Discount on upgrade to new version when released
- Getting your "pet" feature added
- Making sure that a new product solves YOUR problems accurately and quickly.
- Hard, cold cash for finding bugs
- Free version when released
IES makes no general guarantees on these benefits, but each specific test can offer one or more. Generally IES offers benefits like this to those people making the most, or the most important contributions during a test period.
