Bozeman, Montana, USA
IES is located in the small, college town, of
Bozeman, Montana, USA. Bozeman is located just north of
Yellowstone National Park, near the borders of Idaho and Wyoming
in Southwestern Montana. Its a bit rural around here with
fewer than 2 million people in these three states! We sit at
about 5000 ft (1524 m) above sea level in the primarily
agricultural Gallatin Valley, surrounded closely by three
mountain ranges with 11,000 ft (3353 m) peaks. The weather
is dramatic and extreme with 300 days of sunshine a year, just
19 inches of
precipitation (half is snow) and it has been known
to snow in the valley every single month of the year, though we
generally have hot dry summers from July - September.
We have found this to be an ideal location to work, raise our families and to play. Many people visit Bozeman while traveling I-90 across the Western US, others come for blue-ribbon fly fishing, or wilderness backpacking trips or whitewater kayaking. The Fall is known for big-game hunting: bears, mountain lions, mountain goats, antelope, deer, and elk are all found outside our back door.
